Karin Law (Law 21.643)

Channel for Reporting Conduct Constituting Workplace Harassment, Sexual Harassment, or Violence at Work.

On August 1, 2024, Law No. 21,643, known as the Karin Law, came into effect. This legislation establishes a legal framework for the prevention, investigation, and punishment of sexual harassment, workplace harassment, and workplace violence. Regarding the investigation procedures for these conducts, the new legislation establishes guidelines, including those related to complaints made by individuals affected by sexual harassment, workplace harassment, or workplace violence. These can be submitted verbally or in writing, and in person or electronically.

To facilitate this process, NTC offers its employees the option to file a complaint under the Karin Law at ntc.cl, or via denuncias.leykarin@ntc.cl, or in person at the Legal Department at the offices located at Av. Santa María 2120, Providencia, Santiago. You can also file a complaint directly with the Labor Directorate.

The complaint may be filed by the directly affected employee or by a third party who can prove their representation through a power of attorney, which must be attached to the complaint.
